Chiropractic Consultations- Consultations are complementary at Corrective Chiropractic and Wellness. This is a brief meeting between you and the doctor to determine if you may be helped by the services we provide. If the doctor thinks we may be able to help you, he will recommend an examination to gather more information regarding your health condition.
Exams- An examination consists of orthopedic, neurologicial and chiropractic tests to determine the origin of your problem(s). If the doctor feels as though x-rays are needed following the examination, they can be performed immediately on site. If the doctor recommends other diagnostic procedures (i.e. MRI, CT…), an appropriate referral will be made.
X-rays- To help properly evaluate your condition, x-rays will be taken if necessary. The doctor will read the x-rays and be able to determine if you have arthritis, disc degeneration, spinal misalignment or other pathologies which will affect the way we treat you.
Chiropractic Adjustments- Chiropractic adjustments are gentle manipulations of the spine or other joints. The purpose of the manipulation is to restore joint mobility by applying a controlled force into a joint that is restricted in its movement. By restoring proper motion to a joint that is not functioning properly, the mechanics and nervous system will be improved.
xtremity Work/Adjustments- Most people have a very limited idea of what chiropractors actually do. Although we get great results with back pain, we can also work on other joints in the body including the jaw, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, ankles and feet. Many patients have enjoyed great non-surgical outcomes with problems such as TMJ dysfunction, rotator cuff syndrome and carpel tunnel syndrome just to name a few.
Interferrential Therapy- Interferrenital is an electrical therapy that is often referred to as muscle stimulation. This therapy is different than a TENS unit. It reduces pain, decreases swelling, promotes general muscle tone and speeds the healing process.
Intersegmental Traction- A therapy used to induce passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints and increasing mobility. This therapy can be applied with or without vibration and is a patient favorite.
Spinal Decompression- A non-surgical treatment for degenerated, bulging and herniated discs. Spinal decompression works by stretching the spine to increase disc spaces, to restore nutrient flow to the discs and to take pressure off nerves.
Curve Restoration Traction- Traction applied to the spine to restore or decrease the curves of the spine as viewed from the side. Research has determined the amount of curve that is appropriate for the various regions of the spine. Abnormal spinal curves makes the spine more prone to degeneration, disc budges, disc herniations and other injuries.
Rehabilitation- We teach our patients exercise regiments designed specifically for them to rehabilitate an injured or dysfunctioning area when appropriate. Symptom based treatment can go on forever unless the underlying muscle weakness and imbalance is addressed.
Core Muscle Training- Core muscle weakness is a major cause of many musculoskeletal problems and pain syndromes. By developing proper core muscles, many problems can be resolved as well as preventing many future injuries.
Posture Correction- This is achieved through a series of posture specific chiropractic manipulations, exercises and tractioning procedures. Many patients who do not have any symptoms choose to undergo this type of treatment to optimize the function and form of their bodies.
Nutrition Counseling- To attain optimal health, a balance of structural and chemical well being is imperative. The structural elements are addressed by our chiropractors while the chemical is addressed by our nutritionist. We provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to aid in your return to and maintenance of optimal health.
Patient Education Classes- We offer a variety of patient education classes to teach our patients and the general population about the human body, how it works and how to make it work more efficiently. Classes include, but are not limited to Your Posture Your Health, Detoxification and Weight Loss, Top 10 Health Myths and Whole Food vs Natural vs Synthetic Supplements.
Custom Orthotics- Many peoples feet have fallen arches that then cause problems with the normal mechanics of the feet, knees, hips and spine. With these mechanical deficiencies, pain and eventually arthritis often occur. These orthotics are custom made by taking a cast in our office which is then sent to a lab to be created.
Posture and Spinal Screenings- Posture and spinal screenings can reveal important health information and unlock the door to improved health and well-being. We provide screenings at area malls, community events, health fairs and places of employment. Contact us today to arrange a screening at your event or workplace.
School Physicals- Physical examinations are required for participation in most extracurricular activities in school. We are an approved provider of these exams. The typical fee charged for the completion of one of these exam is $30 ($21 with time of service discount). |
