Research by renowned Swiss doctor, Dr Yannick Pauli, the president of Swiss Chiropractic Pediatric Association has given hope to children suffering with Learning Disabilities & Dyslexia. According to Dr Pauli, Chiropractic care – a combination of healthy diet, regular exercising and positive mental approach, can provide relief to children suffering from learning disabilities.

As per studies, 3 to 10 percent of school going children suffers from Learning Disabilities, which includes academic skill disorders like dyslexia and language/ speech disorder. Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) which are referred as motor skills disorder is also prevalent in shoool going kids.

Besides inability to read, write or concentrate, these disorders can induce long term personality issues like low self-esteem, loss of motivation & socializing problems. Learning Disorders can also fuel up issues related to relationship of kid with family and friends.

Most of the learning disorders have been associated with brain. It is believed that these issues are central nervous dysfunction activated and results from interference or misalignment of nerves (commonly called as Vertebral Subluxations).  These spinal misalignments results in a mismatched function of brain hemispheres. They modify the neural inputs to the central nervous system thereby resulting in Learning Disorders and Dyslexia

With chiropractic care, the spinal misalignment is reduced to restore proper central nervous system function thereby improving the overall motor balance. According to Dr Pauli, the misalignment of spine not only causes inadequate stimulation of the brain, but also induces problems in the whole body. With proper chiropractic care, constant stimulation to brain is given, resulting in increase in learning abilities of the person. Chiropractic care cannot replace the role of speech therapists or that of educational psychologist, but it attempts to improve the dysfunction of central nervous system by stimulating brain.

Chiropractic care is not a cure, but it works to stimulate the nervous system. It not only maintains the system but also works for betterment of patient by providing relief. Kids suffering with Learning Disorder can benefit tremendously from Chiropractic care.
