The Italian publication called The Spine Journal documented a case study in March proving the benefits of chiropractic therapy for those suffering from severe back ache along with disc protuberance and lumbago. This random trial was conducted with a hundred and two patients who had medium to high levels of soreness. They were also said to be having protuberances as showcased by MRI scans conducted on them.
The study involved the division of all the participants into two sets one of whom underwent chiropractic treatment through five days of the week. This therapy was conducted by chiropractors who had been in this medical line for a sizable number of years. The second set of volunteers on the other hand received another form of treatment known as simulated manipulations which could not actually qualify as chiropractic therapy.
The outcome of chiropractic care was quite positive as those who received the actual treatment experienced great improvement health wise when compared to those who only received an imitation. Among those who underwent chiropractic treatment, fifty percent were said to be completely recovered from painful back aches while only twenty percent of those who received the simulated treatment became free from pain. In terms of localized pain too, there were similar results as twenty eight percent of those who underwent chiropractic sessions showed optimistic results while only six percent of the other group showed similar results.
The participants belonging to the first group recorded at least six days when they remained completely free of pain. Moreover, they also appeared to require a lower amount of oral medicines to combat the pain. The chiropractic sessions alone were enough to completely get rid of the pain attached to these ailments.
One similarity among both the participating groups was that there were absolutely no unfavorable results as a result of any of the treatments. The authorities conducting this useful study found that when actual chiropractic treatment was received in case of the above mentioned ailments, there was a significant amount of pain relief in all cases when compared to simulations in which case there was a chance of failure for some people.
