The Scientific Periodical Journal or Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics published three cases citing evidence that chiropractic therapy played a major role in the production of adequate mother’s milk in lactating mothers. This study was published in the March 2007 issue and provided substantial claim that chiropractic care could cure Hypo-lactation, a medical condition in which there is a decreased milk production in mothers of new born babies.
In the first study, the condition of a woman was studied who was advised to visit a chiropractor for her condition. Even after ten days of giving birth, she was not able to produce enough milk for her second newborn even though there was no such problem observed at the time of her first baby. Apart from this problem, she also experienced slight trouble in taking down water.
After being studied by the chiropractor, it was concluded that she suffered from a subluxation. Corrective measures were taken to provide a solution to her problem. As soon as her second session was complete, she reported great ease in ingesting water. After going in for therapeutic sessions three times, she noticed a significant increase in the amount of milk she was able to produce. This lead to an enhancement in the health of the child as well as he was no longer dependant on artificial milk formulas available in the market.
The second case documented the story of a woman who consulted a chiropractor for pain in the upper back area. She too had great difficulty in producing enough milk for her baby who was one month of age. She had never before suffered from any health problems. The chiropractitioner performed the tests and found subluxations in her body. After the chiropractor administered treatments to get rid of these subluxations, she started to observe an increase in the size of her breasts. The level of milk she could produce also rose. Another remarkable thing that occurred was that after as little as four sessions, she no longer had any back ache.
The third study documented the plight of a woman who also was finding it quite hard to fulfill her baby’s need for milk. However, after a period of twenty four hours since her chiropractic treatment began, she was able to do so.
This leads to the conclusion that the existence of subluxations plays a significant role in determining the amount of milk production in mothers. Chiropractic therapy can correct these subluxations and restore normal production levels.
